My Coastal Home

My bamboo display cabinet with my Inlay Box and Candle Cross from island collections.

My mini vignette displayed on my stunning decoupage Coral Tray from island collections.
I took this photo collapsed on my sofa at the end of a very long day and finally my Turquoise Foo Dogs get a chance to sit proudly on their sideboard. Welcome home boys!
Well I'm finally in my Coastal Home and I think she's just beautiful. I'm such a very lucky girl! After three long years we are in and I couldn't be happier...and it was well worth the wait!
The move on the other hand was horrific! Saturday (moving day) couldn't be any hotter if it tried. I managed however to set up part of the lounge room...the rest of the house is controlled chaos!

Have a great Thursday!

Our Turquoise Foo Dogs as featured in Shop Til You Drop magazine

Our beautiful Turquoise Foo Dogs are featured in the latest Shop til you drop Magazine and you can check us out on page 131 in the 'Lifestyle in my space' section (our favourite section...followed by fashion of course!) And at the moment we have our Turquoise Foo Dogs on SALE at Island Collections.
A huge thank you to the team at Shop til you drop for featuring us and we love the look of Sybil Steele's home who is obviously a very talented stylist turned photographer and is one groovy chick "who fills her digs with treasures from all over". We also love her mix of coral and blue tones she has added throughout her home.

Key West Styling

We are completely obsessed with large clam shells and dream about filling them with stunning orchids. This image is via Completely Coastal and is from the book Key West- A Tropical Lifestyle by Leslie Linsley. The images throughout this book are so beautiful and are a fabulous source for coastal decorating.

Have a great week.

Island Decorating at it's Best!

My goodness Melbourne has certainly had a taste of the tropics today.....the humidity was soooo high! and with great excitement I may have a flower on my frangipani! Loving this weather! So with that in mind I went into our design files and found images from Brazilian interior designer Sig Bergamin.  Indoor potted Palms, cane, lots of white, accents of blue and a dash of coral red! DIVINE!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

Shell Inspirations and our Summer SALE

We are having a fabulous Summer SALE over at Island Collections!

My Beach home update.

I've been busy moving bits and pieces into our new home and I came across two shells to place in my Shell and Coral  inspired cabinet. Unfortunately the other hundred odd shell and coral pieces are somewhere else in 1 of 45 boxes. Oh dear... its going to take awhile! I'm also going to add some of our coral and shell packs and wouldn't our large Finger Coral look absolutely beautiful.

I've always loved the image from Pinterest over at Plumeria of a shell and coral display cabinet and its my aim to create something similar! (My effort is very pitiful at this moment!)

I'm also so excited that I've been able to put up my shell chandelier. Isn't she beautiful!

Well hello 2012!

Well hello 2012 and we are back and as busy as ever! On our break I started moving bits and pieces down to our nearly finished home by the beach, and Faith was relaxing with family and friends up the coast. I'm sooo terribly excited about the move and to be honest a little daunted by the fact that for the past two years I've had a vision as to how everything is going to look and I just hope I can pull it off! Plus I've come to the conclusion that I have way too many bits and pieces and as my tastes mature I must learn to let go of some things. So my umpteen retro ice buckets and collection of coastal inspired teaspoons must go!! I'm also saying goodbye to my hand painted ceramics that Faith and I did as a hobby many years ago! My glazed distorted merman and mermaid dishes and platters must go!
I've included a couple of photos on inside my new beach home....I haven't had a chance to hang any prints yet but I think my fish inspired prints are going to be perfect hung above my dresser and as for the cane pod!!!!
What a nightmare that was to get in!....  I had this vision of it being a cosy reading nook...little did I know that these "Outdoor Pods" and as my hubby kept emphasising  "Outdoor" aren't meant to fit inside a house. Well 1 1/2 hours later....I'm not kidding!...it was a nightmare...I was prepared to leave it...and tell everyone it was an abstract piece of artwork which is unique to this Peninsula!! But after splinted cane and a bent window frame it popped through!
Hmmm not all visions are easy to execute!
Take Care and enjoy the summer sunshine.
